I am
a small business owner. We approached Global Payments for setting up our debit
and credit card processing systems. We had a series of meetings and settled on
a contract. To our astonishment and distress they set up the account for us in
their own name. This is unheard of. Which service provider sets up merchant
accounts such that they actually own the gateway!
I
went through an unimaginably harrowing time. They trapped me into a situation
where I had absolutely no control over the rates they were charging me. The
identified contact person at Global simply stopped responding to my phone
calls.
Each
time I called the customer support department I would get to speak with a new
person. They were charging my customers and me! I had absolutely no income for
14 days, all thanks to Global. It took me more than 15 days to actually get the
processor changed. A six month long protracted battle was what it took to get
my issue resolved.
Personally,
my association with Global has been nothing less than a nightmare! I advise
merchants to steer clear. No point in getting involved with a service provider
that has very little respect for its own image and for those associated with
it.
