My experience with the CC services of Global Payment Canada

Few days back I gave a call to the customer care department at Global payments Canada at around 2 am in the morning. I am a merchant and hold an account with this so called branded payment processing company. I repetitively called them but the called were not answered.  Much later the call was answered may be after 10 to 12 times of calling. On the other side I heard a sleepy voice of a teenaged boy. He sounded as though his mommy was calling him to wake up. Such callousness towards merchants who run financial enterprises!

I tried explaining the urgent situation that had arisen at my store but instead of hearing me out he simply gave me the “call me later” treatment and hung up.


Give me one good reason why I should continue to work with Global Payments Canada?

Preposterous Customer Care Services of the Global Payment

Majority of the merchants associated with Global Payments Options have been harassed by the customer care staff on one occasion or another. Most of them have faced issues related to slow payment processing and renewal of account without prior notice. Some of them have had major terminal breakdowns!.


The wireless POS terminals by Global Payment Options are supposed to be excellent and without issues. The portable devices are supposed to be super fast. Connectivity and printing slips should ideally be child’s play!. But in the due course of time, the merchants who have installed wireless payment solutions faced have faced too many issues with both the product quality and standard of services. Though Global Payment Options claims that in such situations they replace the defective systems, they do not! And I personally have spoken to afflicted merchants!

Need of Qualified Knowledgeable Customer Staffs

The Global payment Canada is one of the most reputed companies in Canada. Many business houses small, medium and big are entertained by using their services in the recent past. The businesses they do are much enriched for quite some years. Recently the customers are facing unexpected problems from this company when it comes to emergency services. The clients who didn’t have a problem in the past are facing immense problem while incurring loss in their business. This is very shocking!

I want to share my experience with the clients who are still now accessing this company’s services.  I have been with them since one and a half year. When I migrate to their payment application system it turns out to be a nightmare for me. When I subscribed to their services the representative told me the advantages of using this service which moulds my mind. 

When I started with their business I feel I am being ditched so I call up their executives and found they are inexperienced in this field and tried to assist me with their limited knowledge. They think they know everything without consulting their superiors. This creates a bad impression about the company instantly terminated their service.


Global payment is receiving various criticisms for their staffs and assistants so better be careful with this company.

Global Payment a Nightmare

I am a small business owner. We approached Global Payments for setting up our debit and credit card processing systems. We had a series of meetings and settled on a contract. To our astonishment and distress they set up the account for us in their own name. This is unheard of. Which service provider sets up merchant accounts such that they actually own the gateway!

I went through an unimaginably harrowing time. They trapped me into a situation where I had absolutely no control over the rates they were charging me. The identified contact person at Global simply stopped responding to my phone calls.

Each time I called the customer support department I would get to speak with a new person. They were charging my customers and me! I had absolutely no income for 14 days, all thanks to Global. It took me more than 15 days to actually get the processor changed. A six month long protracted battle was what it took to get my issue resolved.


Personally, my association with Global has been nothing less than a nightmare! I advise merchants to steer clear. No point in getting involved with a service provider that has very little respect for its own image and for those associated with it.
